These services include personal cancer-risk assessment; genetic counseling and evaluation of family history; screening examinations and test; design of an individualized program of monitoring; and strategies, including lifestyle modifications and cancer-prevention agents, to reduce cancer risk.
An oncologist with experience in cancer genetics and a genetic counselor provide the initial, in-depth evaluation, drawing on the expertise of other oncology specialists. The clinics also conduct active programs of clinical research, providing patients with the opportunity to participate in a variety of investigational studies.
